Family is understanding. But at the same time it has needs.
Not having a steady job is a hardship for anyone. It builds anxiety, stress, difficulties. It makes the relationship to family somewhat strained. Not always, they're understanding, but sometimes. Money isn't everything, but it helps sometimes.
You can search for odd jobs, steady jobs, but you don't want to lock yourself in...some deadend spot. It takes its toll on you, on your soul. But you do what you can. Being unemployed is a job in itself. Homemaking is a job in itself. And it's hard for people to understand the challenge of running a household sufficiently, and keeping it together. But being unemployed is being unemployed. You've earned the stigma. Until you're not unemployed, you're a pariah. Times are tough but you're supposed to "pull yourself up by the bootstraps". What a horribly misleading phrase. It's nowhere near that easy.
But family is supportive.
